OKAY SORRY THIS IS SO VERY BELATED catching up on some much-overdue mod business
ALRIGHT SO. For Arts Training in Fashion, she'd learn the basics (the "basics" are still pretty complicated) about fashion and social protocol -- there are several levels of formality of dress which are appropriate for different occasions, and it is pretty tacky to show up in the wrong level of formality. Like all Cetagandan art, fashion is a combination of a number of factors: formality, season, type of event or just everyday wear, not only the colors of the layers themselves but how they complement each other, as well as their patterns and type of fabric, and the type of fragrance one wears. These are all tied into one another -- for instance, you may mistakenly wear a scent that clashes with the formality level of your dress -- and there's a lot of nuance and apparent cultural intuition that guides it.
For Calligraphy, she'll learn the fundamentals: an overview of different kinds of calligraphy and their applications, as well as a basic familiarity with brushes, papers, and the most common inks used. Calligraphy is used in a variety of contexts, from personal correspondence to official Imperial writs.
Vex will be taught more about computing for Training: Advanced Tech (for a baseline, think Star Trek, more or less), which, depending on how well she picks up on it (which is probably pretty quick), would give her about the same level of understanding of computing as your average college-educated person. (This, obviously, would take some time and several sessions, but they'll work with her.) If there are any specifics you have questions about, let me know and I'm happy to hash out further details.
For weapons training, Vex is in luck -- their standard sidearms are all ranged weapons! In Weapons: Training, she'll be trained in the standard plasma arc, stunner, and nerve disruptor (details can be found on the technology page). They're all energy weapons, so the recoil is minimal, something Vex is probably not used to after pulling a longbow for however many years. They will make it very clear to her that nerve disruptor fire is almost always fatal. If you have any questions about the weapons besides what's on the technology page though, let me know! They'll let her take the weapons out for training.
For Med Tech, she's mostly expected to be an assistant helping out with the grunt work. She'll be given some lessons on human physiology (although not a detailed course) and basic first aid as well as how to triage patients (take vitals, etc). She'll also get some basic training in medical tech specific to this universe, such as uterine replicators and commonly used drugs. This perk will grant her badge access to the main area of the medbay, but not to any of the specialized areas. Pearl is currently the only other character with the Med Tech perk so they might be working together on occasion.
If you have any questions about further details, don't hesitate to ask!
Vex now has the perks Training: Arts I (Fashion & Calligraphy), Training: Advanced Technology, Training: Weapons, and Med Tech.
