I was wondering what the Barrayan equivalents for some D&D languages would be - assuming one or more would have an Earth opposite. :)
In Critical Role canon, Vex is a bit of a polyglot on account of her studies as a ranger. She knows Common and Elvish as a Half-Elf - would Common here be more likely to be Russian or English, for example?
She also speaks and reads the languages of her favoured enemies: Draconic (for dragons), Undercommon (spoken by duergar, drow, and other Underdark denizens aka races corrupted by evil-aligned gods) and Abyssal (demons). Would these three languages have an equivalent here or would Vex sound like she's speaking nonsense? (Which she'd not have an issue with - though she might surprise any resident dragons. ;)
Vex is also versed in Thieves' Cant, the secret code-talk known by rogues and thieves across all Tal'dorei - would this also be known here? If not, would there be openings for her to potentially teach it to any other outsiders affected by their shared circumstance?
Language Question!
