[For Barrayar] loyalty system
loyalty
In the thick of war, there is no higher virtue than loyalty.
Each character has a loyalty score denoting the number of loyalty points (LP) they have. This score does not reflect their loyal intentions toward either side, but rather indicates how loyal they are perceived to be overall, and thus, how honorable or trustworthy NPCs may perceive them. A character’s loyalty score can lead to unique plot opportunities, influence NPCs’ perception of them, and open up optional loyalty perks.
Loyalty perks are optional rewards that can be claimed if your character’s loyalty score meets the threshold. Taking loyalty perks can influence standing with NPCs on their side and lead to unique plot opportunities. New loyalty perks will emerge as the game plot progresses. Currently available perks are listed on the Loyalty Perks page.
The main way to accrue LP is through Activity Check. Each character gains 1 LP per AC check-in every month, plus 1 LP per bonus AC proof up to a maximum of 5 bonus LP -- a total of 6 maximum LP gained per month via AC. Players take no LP penalties for failing AC or going on hiatus. LP can also be accrued or lost through participation in certain plot opportunities, which will be marked with +/- LP, although the exact amount is determined on a case-by-case basis.
If your character chooses to defect and join the other side, they inevitably lose LP. However, this loss can be mitigated: if your character has something to offer to the other side, such as useful information or supplies, the NPCs will take this as a show of good faith, and the LP penalty will be reduced. LP penalties for defection are determined on a case-by-case basis; the mods will ask for a confirmation once the LP penalty has been calculated before it is put into effect. If you want to have your character defect, you can fill out the request form below and post it as a comment to this entry.
A character’s loyalty score is not an OOC evaluation of the player or character -- just a reflection of their activity and in-game actions. We encourage players to engage with the loyalty system however suits them best -- if you’d have more fun playing a character whose LP goes up and down a lot, or who has an overall low score, then go with it!

Character: York |
Current LP:
1224Defecting to: Barrayar
Offering: information on the wormhole research, Diya's illicit experiments with the ba, and hopefully some food and medical supplies (roll for how much they get away with?)
Reason for defecting: issues with colonization and the genetic experiments, having friends on the other side.
York will be defecting in March but I'm commenting now because he's going to FAIL to defect in February ii.
York, Wash, and Ratchet will be breaking Lakshmi and Daryl out of their timeout corner and escorting them out of the base (York opening any doors necessary and Wash knowing the patrol routes well enough to avoid them), where they'll meet the rescue team of Miles and Maine. Something will then have to seriously go to hell in order to keep York and Ratchet behind while the others escape. Everyone else gets away.
I expect he'll lose some of his Ceta privileges because of this and that's totally cool. Realistic consequences and all.
York will be defecting as of March ii!

Character: Washington |
Current LP: 10
Defecting to: Barrayar
Offering: One of their captured people back, namely Lakshmi. He really isn't particularly keen on really taking sides in the whole war thing but he will offer what information he knows regarding the base's layout and patrol routes.
Reason for defecting: He's got friends on the other siiide. He also just kind of hates the whole weird experiments in a military base thing.

Because of his association with both Maine and Lakshmi, Piotr is willing to give Wash the benefit of the doubt, but he does want a full debriefing on what it is Wash knows. (Let me know if you'd like to thread this out next event; if not, we can talk deets for a handwave.)
New LP: 8 LP
ETA:
According to my spreadsheet Wash has 12 LP as of the Feb I event results (he got +2 for signups), so his new total is 10 LP.IGNORE THAT I WAS LOOKING AT THE INCORRECT COLUMNno subject
Character: Duv Galeni |
Current LP: 8
Defecting to: Barrayar
Offering: Information! He's offering what he knows of the compound (drawing his mental map of the layout of where he was allowed to go, observations made of equipment, and his peek at gene lab things).
Reason for defecting: Cetaganda smells bad.
no subject
I think we've pretty much covered what he gave to Piotr, but let me know if we need to hash anything else out, or if Duv would like to have another, less torture-y debriefing with Piotr.
New LP: 6 LP

Character: daryl dixon |
Current LP: sssseven?
Defecting to: barrayar
Offering: possibly some cetagandan body parts.... and the tiny bit of info he's gleaned from ceta
Reason for defecting: The Fast Penta Incident: Diya Is A Lizard Person
ftr im totally fine w the camp not trusting him and debriefing happening / restricted access to camp / whatever

As of the end of the February II event, Daryl will be allied with Barrayar. He loses 2 LP and...well, he didn't have any Cetaganda perks.
If Daryl is actually bringing dead Cetagandan body parts let me know what specifically and also where he got them. Piotr may have an interest.
He'd have the same restricted access to camp that any outsiders not officially involved in the military would have. If you'd like to thread out his debriefing or hash out any details, let me know.
New total LP: 8

and it'll depend on how threading The Escape goes, so i'll defs let you know, but atm if daryl kills anybody in the escape hes taking at least an ear because they make great necklaces! obviously! i'll send u more deets as they develop.
and i probs will want to thread debriefing bc im greedy

Character: Natasha Romanoff |
Current LP: 47?
Defecting to: Barry
Offering: Well she has been spying for them? She'd obviously give all the info she has about the Star Gate and the genetics lab and the project with the exotics powers. She might try and grab some medical supplies she could grab fast.
Reason for defecting: fuck your brainwashing

Character: Tarn |
Current LP: 28
Defecting to: Barrayar
Offering: Information about the Star Gate, increased Cetagandan forces, and whatever the hell Piotr can drag out of him with a little torture
Reason for defecting: its not so much of a intentional defection as Wash deciding that he can't let Tarn complete his Gene Therapy and taking him home as a gift for Piotr.
